Welcome to Bhagavad-Gita for VIPs
A little about this project
I first met Srila Prabhupada, the author of Bhagavad-Gita As It Is, in Bombay India in 1974. I became his disciple at that time understanding He was a true representative the teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita. In a class one evening, Srila Prabhupada was lecturing about a verse in the Gita which stated that "Whatever action is performed by a great man, common men follow in his footsteps." (BG 3.21)

He looked right at me and said "if you really want to please me you will distribute my books to the leaders of the world." Earlier that day I was offered the position of Srila Prabhupada's personal servant by Brahmananada Swami, Srila Prabhupada's Secretary. But, Srila Prabhupada's words were compiling and I knew what I must do. I would to Washington, DC and distribute His Books to the leaders in America. That is exactly what I did and in a short time I was distributing books in The National Airport. While challenging work it was the most satisfying time of my life. It was also an important part of my practice of Bhakti yoga. As the years passed I ended up opening an office on Capital Hill in Washington, DC focusing fully on presenting the teachings of Bhagavad-Gita to the leaders of the United States.
Now some 45 years later I am inspired again to share this knowledge with the new leaders of the United States. I see them enveloped in identity politics, fault finding and self serving interest. As Krishna told Arjuna, "Rise above these modes, Oh Arjuna. Be transcendental to all of them. Be free from all duality and from all anxieties for gain and safety and be established in the self." (BG 2.45) So in now is the time for our leaders to rise above their bodily concept of life and be introduced to a higher understanding of human life. Bhagavad-Gita for VIPs is an ongoing program to send Congressmen, Senators, Cabinet members, Agency Directors and of course the President a copy of the Bhagavad-Gita. |
Recent NewsThe first shipment of books have arrived and each one will be sent with a personalized letter. We anticipate the first wave of books to be distributed will cost $5,000. We have set a gofundme.com page ( gf.me/u/v8nifk ) as well. If you are able to help support this effort it would be greatly appreciated.
